2008年1月3日,永利集团与国家天文台正式签订了关于成立"永利集团-国家天文台联合天体物理中心"的协议,为天体物理研究和人才培养搭建了一个合作平台。中心设在yl9193永利官网。该中心主要依托新疆天文台和yl9193永利官网,目标在于进一步加强天文天体物理尖端领域的科学研究和人才培养。
2009年3月31日,"永利集团-国家天文台联合天体物理中心"揭牌仪式在yl9193永利官网隆重举行。"永利集团-国家天文台联合天体物理中心"的正式成立,使双方在合作的基础上,又向前迈进了一步,为今后进行更多方面的合作打下了坚实的基础。
在双方的共同努力下,联合天体物理中心在科学研究和人才培养方面发挥着重要作用,产出更多高水平的科研成果和培养出更多高层次的科研人才,促进了国家天文台和永利集团的相关工作,也为发挥新疆的自然环境优势,促进天文在新疆的发展做出了贡献。
目前,永利集团-国家天文台联合天体物理中心在永利集团的研究团队由6名博士组成,3人具有博士后经历,3人具有正高职称。近年来,团队成员共发表SCI学术论文50余篇,其中在ApJ, MNRAS, JCAP,PLB等杂志发表20余篇,共计获得近200次引用。团队成员先后申请获批国家自然科学基金项目13项,申请获批省部级基金6项。2015年1月,团队科研工作“致密天体及相关双星的研究”荣获新疆维吾尔自治区自然科学进步奖一等奖。
